Executive Committee, Scientific Committee
It was my honour to serve as the President of the European Hip Society and welcome you to the 16th EHS Congress in my hometown of Thessaloniki, Greece in October 2025.
I have been closely involved in the evolution of EHS as it has grown in strength internationally, having served two terms as elected EHS Secretary General (from 2014-2021) under four presidents, and was able to ensure that the EHS Presidential line remained intact, to retain the special element which makes EHS such a respected and effective community of hip surgeon friends around the world.
“The Adult Hip – Master Case Series and Techniques” (Springer), is an excellent example of how effective it can be to actively pool our EHS expertise and resources, with over 50 EHS members contributing case studies to a project I am very proud of. MAST Course (Masterclass in Arthroplasty Surgery Thessaloniki in Late Autumn each year) is now in its 13th year and along with several other courses EHS organises throughout the year, is another example of EHS experts coming together.
I maintained and strengthened our relations with other respected ortho societies, such as EFORT, and increased and intensified our educational activities, such as our EHS Fellowships and EHS Webinars, with more to come. We now have members from USA, Australia, Japan, Nigeria, South America and China, as well as the Middle East and almost all of Europe, and as we all saw at the 16th EHS Congress in Thessaloniki where we had more delegates than any congress before (1,098 attendees from 90 ncountries!), our congresses go from strength to strength.
Our excellent committees are the EHS ExCom, the EHS SciCom, the EHS EduCom and the EHS Nat Reps, not to mention the EHS Ambassadors and the EHS Webinar Task Force. Our hip surgeon community is kept connected via our monthly EHS Newsletter (available on this website). Please do contact us if you wish to get actively involved in the society.
