EHS Fellowship to the Netherlands 5-16 April 2027
The Call is OPEN!
More info HERE.
Deadline for applications: 31st October 2026

Dear EHS Members,
It has been a very busy month with academic trips to Stockholm, London, New York, Munich for ISTA, Chicago for the Knee Society and Kyoto for SICOT.
I attended the British Orthopaedic Association meeting. I was honoured to give the Robert Jones Lecture at the British Orthopaedic Association’s annual congress in London (and to receive the Robert Jones Medal), and spoke on Data, Evidence and Decisions. We had a stand at the BOA and promoted our 17th EHS Congress London, which will take place in a year’s time at the very same venue, Olympia Congress Centre, from 7-8th October 2027. Make sure it is in all of your diaries! We expect your involvement and are creating an excellent international scientific programme. The call for abstracts will open in January.
Our Combined meeting with The Hip Society and the Swedish Arthroplasty Association in Stockholm last month was a wonderful event and we enjoyed a vibrant social and academic interexchange with our colleagues from North America. Dr Geert Meermans from our EHS EduCom provides the brief report HERE.
EHS members are extended a 15% discount on registration to the CCJR (Current Concepts in Joint Replacement) in Orlando, USA, this December (the annual educational meeting of The Hip Society and The Knee Society).
The EHS Instagram is taking off with 1.5 million views, thanks to our new young member Ms Irrum Azfal, UK, who tells us more below. Over 1.5m Instagram views in 30 days, a fantastic milestone for EHS
🔗europeanhipsociety.com
We are delighted to share some fantastic news from our social media community: European Hip Society content on Instagram has received more than 1.5 million views in the last 30 days. This demonstrates just how far the EHS community now reaches and reflects the growing appetite for engaging, relevant and educational content within our specialty.
Social media has become an increasingly important way for professional communities to communicate, connect and share knowledge. Through our social media channels, we can share the latest EHS news, highlight educational opportunities and events, celebrate the work and achievements of our members, promote upcoming meetings and encourage discussion and engagement across our society and far beyond.
Our digital presence also gives us an important and exciting opportunity to connect with the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons and healthcare professionals. By maintaining an active and engaging presence online, we can introduce more people to our work and encourage them to become involved in our educational, scientific and professional society.
This milestone represents real engagement with the EHS. Every view, like, comment, share and follow helps our content reach a wider audience. When our members share an EHS post with their own networks, contribute to a discussion or highlight the Society’s activities, they help us connect with colleagues who may not yet be part of EHS.
A huge thank you to everyone who follows EHS, engages with our posts, shares our content and helps spread the word. This milestone belongs to the whole EHS. If you see an EHS post that interests you, please share it with your colleagues, trainees and professional networks, and encourage them to join the conversation.
Together, we can continue to grow the European Hip Society community, strengthen connections across our specialty and share the work of EHS with an ever-growing international audience. This is only the start. Our ambition is to make EHS the digital home for the European hip community connecting surgeons, sharing knowledge and creating opportunities throughout the year.
