Dear EHS Members,

Despite the heatwave, Athens this week welcomes over 140 orthopaedic & trauma trainees to the sold out 6th FORTE* Summer school (with EHS patronage). Organiser and Past President of FORTE, Dr Panayiotis Megaloikonomos (EHS Member) says: “The event has been a great success! We hope EHS members will promote the course to their trainees for next year.” Faculty includes EHS President Elect, Prof Eleftherios Tsiridis, EFORT President Elect, Prof Theofilos Karachalios and EHS Nat Rep for Greece, Assoc Prof Lazaros Poultsides (from Greece), as well as EHS Members, Prof Rob Nelissen (Netherlands) and Prof James Powell (Canada), who came all the way from Calgary to speak about “Hip Preserving Surgery: Open Procedures” and “Infected THA”.

Women in Orthopaedics were celebrated @ FORTE and EHS Member Prof Catharina Chiari (Austria) was joined by Prof Nanni Allington (President of the French Belgian Ortho Association), Prof Zoe Dailiana (President of HAOST) and Dr Ines Unterfrauner (Swiss Female Orthopaedics Association), plus many more (see photo above).

Meanwhile, we welcome two new (male!) Full Members to EHS: Prof Joseph Queally (Ireland) and Prof Simon Damian Steppacher (Switzerland).
