Dear Members,

We are pleased to publish the Minutes from the EHS Annual General Assembly, which took place in Lisbon during the EFORT congress: HERE. Thanks to all who attended.

Our EduCom Member, Prof Mattia Loppini, is Guest Editor of the JCM Special Issue on “Clinical Management and Outcome of Periprosthetic Fracture”. We hope many of you will submit papers.

A year has passed since our EHS 14th Congress in Lille. Our EHS Past President, Dr Jean-Alain Epinette, was determined at least some of us could meet face to face, to keep alive The Spirit of EHS – despite the pandemic causing a year’s delay to the event, as well as no end of unforeseen problems. But we made it and give a huge thanks to all who came – both in person and digitally. The delegate satisfaction rate from our feedback was 92%! If you haven’t already, please read the report HERE and enjoy the great photos.

Now of course we look forward greatly to our EHS 15th Congress in Bern in October 2023, for which preparations are under way. Prof Siebenrock is very excited to welcome everyone to his beautiful home town.

The EHS Visiting Fellowship (postponed due to the pandemic) will take place next month in Portugal. Thanks to Dr Dantas, our EHS Nat Rep, for organising a super itinerary and to his participating colleagues Prof Rego, Dr Tinoco and Dr Melo. We look forward to reading the report of our two fellows Dr Adrian Cassar-Gheiti (Ireland) and Dr Iker Uriarte (Spain) in the New Year. (For previous reports from our EHS Fellowships, please click HERE.)

Thanks everyone and have a good autumn.

Assoc Prof Stanislav Bondarenko, EHS Secretary General
