Nobody could say it wasn’t intense. But it was, after all, a Masterclass, and if you were not passionate about Advanced Arthroplasty Surgery, you wouldn’t have been there. The world experts were firing out talks on current concepts one after the other in Thessaloniki, Greece, at the EHS-organised meeting. High praise all around for this excellent non-stop meeting organised by Prof Eleftherios Tsiridis and Dr Jean-Alain Epinette, Secretary General and President of EHS respectively, and their teams.

With over 300 delegates, and more than 100 presentations by 46 distinguished national and international experts, this EFORT-supported course enjoyed great success and is now in its 6th year.

From 6th – 8th December, many EHS faces gathered in Thessaloniki. Prof Kjærsgaard-Andersen (EHS Ambassador and Past President of EFORT) gave a key note speech on, “The Dilemma when THA is the only option left in the adolescent, young patient” and Prof George Bentley on, “The Quest for Prevention and Cure for Osteoarthritis of the Knee and Hip”.

EHS Past Presidents Dr Macheras (2010), Prof Tokgözoĝlu (2006) and Prof Ullmark (2014) were there, as well as EHS EduCom member Prof Atilla and EHS Ambassador Prof Mohaddes, not to mention EHS Nat Rep for Ukraine, Prof Bondarenko.

Most presentations were video-based, the primary aim being to technically educate Orthopaedic Specialists with an interest in joint arthroplasty and revision.

State-of-the-art lectures, video demonstrations and hands-on workshops were all delivered by world-class faculty. The intimate meeting size of the workshops allowed everyone to network with faculty and exchange opinions and experiences, as well as try out the Virtual Reality Training Platform.
