Bridge Fellowship

Connecting Expertise. Advancing Hip Surgery.

The EHS Bridge Fellowship connects experienced European hip surgery centres with EHS members seeking focused educational visits.

The programme aims to facilitate knowledge exchange, promote collaboration and provide members with the opportunity to observe different surgical techniques, clinical pathways and research activities across Europe.

Please note: The European Hip Society facilitates contact between fellows and host centres but does not provide financial support or travel grants. All travel and accommodation costs are the responsibility of the fellow unless otherwise agreed with the host centre.

Educational Opportunities

Each participating host centre will outline the educational opportunities available. These may include:

• Hip Preservation
• Hip Arthroscopy
• Robotic Hip Surgery
• Primary Hip Arthroplasty
• Revision Hip Arthroplasty

Depending on the host centre and the duration of the visit, fellows may have the opportunity to participate in:

• Clinical lectures and case discussions
• Outpatient clinics
• Operating theatre sessions
• Research laboratories
• Ongoing research projects (where available)

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must:

• Be an active EHS member
• Be an orthopaedic specialist or final-year orthopaedic resident (registrar)
• Ideally be affiliated with a teaching hospital or specialist hip surgery unit
• Demonstrate a strong interest in hip surgery
• Have relevant academic achievements (e.g. publications or presentations)
