Dear EHS Members,
I am honoured to serve as EHS President.
Congratulations to Prof Eleftherios Tsiridis and everyone involved in our successful Thessaloniki congress, our biggest to date, with over 1k delegates and a healthy show of industry support – we were all witness to EHS as a thriving community of international hip surgeons exchanging ideas. All bodes well for 17th EHS Congress London 2027, and we will test out the venue as the Guest Society for the British Hip Society’s annual congress at Olympia Stadium in March 2026.
Welcome to our new ExCom members: President Elect Prof Carsten Perka (Germany), who will hold 18th EHS Congress Berlin 2029, Treasurer Prof Tobias Winkler (Germany) and Secretary General Prof Stanislav Bondarenko (Ukraine). Thanks to Prof Moussa Hamadouche for his candidacy. Well done to the winners of the SAGE-EHS Abstract Awards 2025: 1st prize of €1.5k is on its way to Dr Daphne Wezenberg and Prof Jörg Schilcher*, while 2nd prize of €1k is off to Canada to Dr George Grammatopoulos and his team**.
My initial aim as President is to improve EHS’s academic viability and encourage a more youthful and diverse community, and without further ado, I introduce our EHS Emerging Leaders Committee, who have bravely agreed to take up the challenge: Syed S Ahmed (UK); Cecile Batailler (France); Safa Gursoy (Turkiye); Kartik Logishetty (UK); Manuel Mazzoleni (Italy); Fiachra Rowan (Ireland); Kevin Staats (Austria) and Georges Vles (Belgium).
