Kenanidis Efstathios MD, PhD, MSc
I am truly honoured to be a part of the EHS SciCom. I am enthusiastic about actively contributing to the EHS Scientific Committees research activities in the coming years. I currently serve as an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology at Papageorgiou Hospital, Aristotle University, Thessaloniki, Greece (chairman Prof Tsiridis), which is part of the National Public Health System of Greece. In addition to my academic role, I also maintain a private practice at the International Centre of Arthroplasty and Revision Orthopaedic Surgery (ICAROS) in the Interbalkan Medical Centre, Thessaloniki. My clinical practice primarily focuses on hip and knee surgery, encompassing both primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasties and hip and pelvic trauma procedures.
I graduated MD ‘Cum Laude’ from the AUTh Medical School and completed my specialty training in 2013. I hold a PhD in Orthopaedics, focusing on hip implant osseointegration, and an MSc in Medical Experimental Methodology (AUTh). My primary clinical fellowship in
Adult Lower Limb Orthopaedic Surgery was undertaken at the ICAROS Clinic under the direction of Professor Tsiridis (2015-2018). Additionally, I completed a clinical fellowship in Hip Joint Arthroplasty and Conservative Hip Surgery (EFORT Visiting Fellowship) and served
as a Senior Research Associate in the University College London Department of Biomechanics (2018-2022).
I am the primary author of 105 full papers in PubMed (2506 citations/H index: 26). I have contributed to 40 chapters in the book “Adult Hip – Master Case Series and Techniques,” edited by Eleftherios Tsiridis and published by Springer Nature (book ISBN 978-3-319-64177-5). My ORCID ID is 0000-0001-9517-1600.
Currently, my research focuses on robotics and surgical techniques for THA patients.
I eagerly anticipate collaborating with the EHS SciCom members!
