Dear EHS Members,

EHS had a very active October, with great success across four national ortho congresses (Germany, Greece, Italy and Sweden), with another one coming up in Portugal next month! Great thanks to all our expert speakers – enjoy some nice photos below.

The MAST 11 in Thessaloniki proved an excellent test run of the seafront venue of our 16th EHS Congress 2025 (October 16-17th), for which the countdown has now truly begun. Together with the Hellenic Association of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology, the MAST course attracted more than 1,500 registrations, with great support from the whole industry. The photo heading this newsletter shows the nice atmosphere in October here in Thessaloniki and we encourage you all to bring your families for a long weekend, as one Dutch member did this year.

Please all actively support and promote our next Free EHS Webinar or Hip Arthroplasty (Part II), on Thursday 28th November @ 18:00-19:30 (CET). Our EHS President Elect, Prof Fares Haddad (UK) & EHS SciCom Member, Dr Oliver Marin-Pena (Spain), will moderate. Of note will surely be the crossfire between EHS Members Prof Francesco Benazzo (Italy) and Mr Matt Wilson (UK) on “Revision THA: “Heavy” Metal or Bone Graft to fix acetabular bone defect?” I will give my “Update on aseptic revision THA in big femoral defects”, EHS Members Prof Sebastian Lustig (France) will speak on “How to manage unstable THA in 2024” and Prof Mustafa Citak (Germany) on “What’s new in septic revision THA”. The closing case discussion is by Prof Stanislav Bondarenko (Ukraine).

Best regards,

Prof Eleftherios Tsiridis
EHS President 2023-2025
