From Europe to Japan

Dear Members of the EHS,

We warmly welcome two new hip surgeons to EHS this month, Assoc Prof Mario Staresinic from Zagreb in Croatia is now a Full Member and Dr Carlos Baltazar Branco from Porto in Portugal is a Young Member.

The meetings calendar is filling up. EHS will hold a Combined Session with our orthopaedic friends in Japan at the 52nd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Artificial Joints (JRSA) from 20-22nd February 2022. Both Prof Tsiridis and Prof Thaler from our ExCom will speak (digitally) at the event. Thanks to our active International Member Dr Hiroshi Fujita (Director of Center for Hip and Knee Arthroplasty at Rakuyo Hospital in Kyoto) for arranging this.

Next month, the EHS Combined-Course with SECCA (Spanish Society of Hip Surgery) will take place in Madrid, Spain (18th March 2022). The topic is “Evolution of Different Techniques & Technology during the last decades in Hip Arthroplasty” and our EHS speakers are Prof Fares Haddad (Nat Rep for UK), Dr George Macheras (Nat Rep for Greece) and Prof Luigi Zagra (Chairman of SciCom).

EFORT will hold its 23rd congress in Lisbon, Portugal, from 22-24th June 2022 on “Modern Patient Needs: Challenges And Solutions In O&T” and as usual EHS – a member of the EFORT Specialty Society Standing Committee (ESSSC) – is contributing to the Scientific Programme. Registration is open.

We are finalising an upgrade to the EHS website which will facilitate secure direct membership dues payment online, and Samantha will send out the annual payment request shortly. Thanks in advance.
