If you heard English in Berlin at DKOU (the German Congress of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, and the biggest ortho congress in Europe with over 8,000 attendees) coming from one of the lecture halls, it must have been the EHS session, organised and chaired by EHS President Elect and Nat Rep for Germany, Prof Carsten Perka, with EHS Past President, Prof Eleftherios Tsiridis co-moderating. This year we presented on:-
Current Trends in Hip Arthroplasty
- Prof Klaus Siebenrock: Did diagnosis improve and how with modern MRI techniques?
- Prof Rüdiger von Eisenhart-Rothe: AI for planning & execution in osteotomies
- Prof Fares Haddad: New diagnostic tools to prove/exclude PJI?
- Prof Eleftherios Tsiridis: STAR piriformis preserving MIS posterior approach: is the way forward?
- Dr Sebastian Hardt: Short stems – a significant step forward in case of revision?
It was a very inspirational session with excellent discussions. Thanks to everyone who attended.
The session will be available for replay soon. Watch this space.
Also during DKOU, EHS was very proud to see our President 2016-2018 Prof Wim Schreurs receive the Hans-Georg Willert Award and deliver a great presentation: About young patients, biological reconstructions & long-term follow-up in THA. A worthy tribute to an outstanding leader and academic.
EHS would like to thank the DKOU team for all their help with organising the EHS booth in the exhibition hall, where we were able to meet many new hip surgeon and hip research faces and spread our EHS philosophy of “bringing hip surgeons together to improve patient care”.
Vielen Dank
