Anthony Viste MD, PhD

Professor Anthony Viste, MD, PhD, is an Academic orthopaedic surgeon and teacher of Anatomy at the University of Lyon, France.
He is an active member of the French Orthopaedic and Trauma Society (SOFCOT), the French Society for Hip and Knee Surgeons (SFHG) and of the College of French Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeons (CFCOT).
As Vice-Chair of the Department of Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery at the University Hospital Lyon Sud, he is specialized in Hip and Knee Surgery with a focus on primary and revision reconstructions, especially using double mobility constructs for many years.
He also heads the Trauma Unit, especially specialised in treating pelvic and acetabulum injuries. Professor of Anatomy at the University of Lyon 1, he is involved in teaching general Anatomy to the medical students, residents and fellows.
In 2015-2016, he spent a year of research fellowship at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN (USA) under the supervision of Matthew P Abdel and Daniel J Berry, which led to numerous publications and book chapters.
He is the authors of scientific publications (PubMed) and books contributions, speaks at national and international conferences, is Associate Editor for Surgical and Radiologic Anatomy and reviewers for various journals.
He is also the leading surgeon treating haemophiliac patients with hip and knee disorders and osteoarticular infections in orthopaedic and trauma patients with the CRIOAC Lyon.
In 2023, he created a national interuniversity diploma to teach Hip Surgery to French-speaking international students and young surgeons.
