I’m pleased to report the excellent scientific programme for our congress is complete and is star quality, as always, encouraging debate over diverse case studies for attendees to learn from the real life experience of our top EHS experts.
A new initiative this year lead by the EduCom is a session for Best National Papers, for which EHS Nat Reps have been invited to send in the top papers from their annual congress. We will of course also hold our usual awards in collaboration with Hip International for Best and 2nd Best Poster. All judged by the SciCom.
March started with a rainy AAOS meeting in San Diego, California, and followed with a sunny London Hip Meeting, co-chaired by Prof Fares Haddad (EHS President Elect) and Prof Henrik Malchau. At both events I had the opportunity to introduce the STAR approach (Superior Transverse Atraumatic Replacement), my minimally invasive surgical technique prioritizing patient outcome by reducing trauma and increasing speedy recovery, plus better joint function. Next I spoke at the 44th Israel Orthopaedic Association meeting in Tel Aviv.
April sees an EHS Session at the Turkish Arthroplasty Society’s congress for the first time, then in May we give EHS patronage to FORTE Summer School in Split, Croatia, the congress of Practical Course Orthopedics in Tolouse and a hybrid course on THA & TKA in Kharkiv, Ukraine. See more courses on the EHS Hip Calendar HERE.
A big welcome to our new EHS faces: full members Dr Bingol (Ankara, Turkiye), Dr Bruggermann (Uppsala, Sweden) and Dr Puolanto (Helsinki, Finland); young member Dr Pirato (Brindisi, Italy) and international member Dr Blankstein (Florida, USA). I hope to see you all at our congress in October.
Finally, still a few membership dues to come in (kindly click HERE or the PayPal button below). Thanks to all who have paid already.
Best regards,
Prof Eleftherios Tsiridis
EHS President 2023-2025
