Dear EHS Members,

The EHS Webinar #1 was a great success with over 600 registrations! Thanks for the excellent presentations by Prof Luigi Zagra on “Key steps in planning total hip arthroplasty”, Assoc Prof Eduardo García-Rey on “Modern posterior approach in uncemented total hip replacement” and Prof Eleftherios Tsiridis on “THA: implant positioning and optimisation”.

We attracted a lot of young hip surgeons from all over the world and we had plenty of time at the end for debate, answering questions via chat, led by our moderators Prof Alister Hart, Dr Olga Pidgaiska and of course Dr Jean-Alain Epinette.

Sincere thanks to everyone who helped spread the word about these free EHS Webinars, which we will run monthly. The free replay is available HERE for anyone who missed it, and now we are looking forward to our next session:-

EHS currently has two Fellows in Sweden enjoying the hip surgery ORs in Stockholm, Gothenberg and Orebro. We are very happy to warmly welcome seven new members to EHS this month, who I am sure will be very active additions to our society:-

  • International Member: Dr Yad Abdulrahim (Iraq)
  • Young Members: Dr Atanas Panev (Bulgaria); Dr Teresa Clode Araújo (Portugal) & Dr Christos Koutserimpas (Greece)

Finally, please enjoy the report from last month’s excellent 4th European Joint Meeting EHS & SECCA in Madrid, and don’t forget immediate upcoming hip events: the British Hip Society Annual Meeting (8-10 March) in Edinburgh, where EHS President, Prof Siebenrock, is “The Charnley Legacy Lecturer”; the 5th Barcelona Hip Meeting (17-19 April) and the EHS co-organsied Hip Symposium in Bern (20-22 April, plus pre-course 19 April).

Best regards,

Assoc Prof Stanislav Bondarenko,
