Stockholm International Hip Revision Course

About The Course
The Stockholm International Hip Revision Course is an established hip course.
From 2018 the course is held in cooperation with Link Sweden AB and European Hip Society in accordance with the European Curriculum for Orthopedics and Traumatology and EFORT Educational Platform.
Responsibility for the course is held by Lars Weidenhielm, Per Wretenberg and Gösta Ullmark.

Topics include:
 Anatomy and surgical approaches.
 Painful THA, shall we revise?
 Revision methods, cemented, uncemented, Impaction Bone Grafting. Mega prostheses.
 Dislocation. Prevention and surgical options for revision.
 Periprosthetic fractures. Osteosynthesis or/and prosthetic revision?
 Infections. How to avoid, to diagnose and to treat them.
 Case discussions.
 Workshops: distal anchoring stems, extended trochanteric osteotomy and Impaction Bone Grafting in Femur and Acetabulum.
Who Should Attend?
Orthopedic surgeons to assess current practice and knowledge of avoiding THA complications and gain insight in revision options of failed THA´s.
Specialist Hip Surgeons who want to update knowledge in revision hip surgery.
Specialist registrars who wish to gain further knowledge in prevention and treatment of painful or failed THA.

Obligatory task for each attendee
Prepare as PPT one case for presentation during the course.
(Obligatory for course certificate).
Venue Facilities
The course is held at the Hotel C Stockholm. It is a Congress hotel in the very centre of Stockholm, located in the main business and shopping area. The hotel is located 50 meter walking distance from Stockholm central station. Shuttle train from Stockholm Arlanda airport takes 20 minutes to Stockholm central station.
Both the course and the dinners will take place in the Hotel, providing the perfect opportunity to network.

repair of major cortical defects, healing mechanism.
